Materials:
Crochet hook (K)7mm
Caron Big Cakes or similar weight/ply yarn (4 medium)
Ruler (1-2 inch high) *use the same ruler for all squares
tapestry/yarn needle for weaving in ends scissors


Abbreviations:
* Magic Circle (MC)
* Slip Stitch (SLST.)
* Chain (CH)
* Single Crochet (SC)
* Half Double Crochet (HDC)
* Double Crochet (DC)
* Front Post Double Crochet (FPDC)
(Yarn over, working at the front of your work, place the hook under the marked stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2, yarn over, pull through 2. )


* Back Post Double Crochet (BPDC)
(Yarn over, working at the back of your work, place the hook under the marked stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull .through 2, yarn over, pull through 2.)


* Loops (Loop)
(Slip stitch and pull up a big loop to fit over the ruler, place it on the ruler, remove your hook and tighten the loop to be snug on the ruler. Place your hook in the next stitch, slip stitch and pull up a loop and place it on the ruler and repeat.)






“Broomstick”

Pattern:
Video Row 1Row 1: You will need a HUGE magic circle. In magic circle slip stitch then pull up loop and place on a ruler. repeat and pull up 36 loops and place on your ruler. slide off the ruler and pull the circle closed.

Video row 2Row 2: 3HDC in groups of 3 loops each, slst into 1st HDC ( 12 groups)

Row 3: ch3, DC behind the ch3 in between the 2 groups of loops, DC next 9 stitches, (2DC, ch1, 2DC) BETWEEN 3rd and 4th loop group, DC next 9 stitches, (2DC,ch1, 2DC) between 6th and 7th loop groups, DC next 9, (2DC, ch1, 2DC) between 9th and 10th loop groups, DC next 9 stitches, 2DC, ch 1, slst top of ch3. (13DC per side, 52DC total)

Row 4: ch3, DC behind the ch3 in ch1 space, BPDC to corner, (2DC, ch1 ,2DC) in corner. repeat to last corner, 2DC, ch1, slst top ch3 (17DC per side)

Row 5: Loops! first 2 stitches -pull loop up and place on ruler, slst same stitch and pull another loop up place on ruler. slst and pull up 1 loop in each of the next 13 stitches, last 2 stitches before ch1 space and 2 stitches after ch1 space pull up 2 loops in each. repeat to last corner, pull up 2 loops each in the last 2 stitches. (21 loops per side, 84 Loops total)

Row 6: 3HDC in 7 groups of 3 loops, ch1, repeat around, slst into 1st HDC (21 hdc, 1ch per side)

Row 7: ch3, DC behind the ch3 in ch1 spaces, *(( 21 DC, (2DC, ch1, 2DC in corner), * repeat around to last corner, 2DC, ch1, slst top of ch3. (25 DC per side, 100 DC total)

Row 8: ch3, DC behind the ch3 in ch1 space, *((25 BPDC, (2DC, ch1, 2DC in corner)), * repeat around to last corner, 2DC, ch1, slst top of ch3. (29 stitches per side, 116DC total)



Row 9: Loops! yay Loops! in first stitch slst pull up loop, slst pull up 2nd loop and place on ruler, slst and pull up 1 loop next 27 stitches, last stitch before ch1 space pull up 2 loops, repeat to last corner, pull up 2 loops in the last stitch. (31 loops per side)

Row 10: 3HDC in first group of 2 loops, 3HDC in next 9 groups of 3 loops, 3HDC in last group of 2 loops CH1 .repeat around, ch1,  slst into first HDC. (33 HDC per side)



Row 11: ch3, DC behind the ch3 in ch1 space, DC next 33 stitches, (2DC, ch1, 2DC) in corner. repeat to last corner, 2DC, ch1, slst top ch3. (37 DC per side)


Row 12: ch3, 2DC behind the ch3 in ch1 space. BPDC next 37 stitches, (3DC, ch1, 3DC) in corner, repeat to last corner, 3DC, ch1, slst top ch2. (43 DC per side)

Row 13: ch3, DC behind the ch3 in ch1 space, dc next 43 stitches, (2dc, ch1, 2dc) in corner. repeat around to last corner, 2DC, ch1, slst top ch3 .fasten off (47 DC per side)

(US) Dazzling CAL 2 colors (whole) pattern

The CAL has ended! I have seen some lovely creations coming by. If you haven't made the Dazzling shrug yet, here's the whole pattern. Join the  Facebookgroup  for questions and support! Stitch markers can come in handy Sizes: The pattern has been designed in a way that any size (S to XXXL) can be made. Put your arms up ( Like your an airplane) and let someone else measure from elbow to elbow. That's all you need to know to make your own custom dazzling shrug! You'll be using these measurements in the 3rd part of the CAL. At the end of part 3, your "square" will be elbow to elbow. The Yarn: The yardage is based upon the number of skeins we needed for the sizes. We recommend to use yarn suitable for hook size F/5 and G/6. Colour 1 is the colour with which you will make the edging Colour 2 is the 2nd color of the shrug Size S Colour 1: 985 yards        (900 meters) Colour 2: 739 yards        (675 meters)              Size M
