(US) Dazzling CAL 2 colors (whole) pattern

The CAL has ended! I have seen some lovely creations coming by. If you haven't made the Dazzling shrug yet, here's the whole pattern.

Sizes:

The pattern has been designed in a way that any size (S to XXXL) can be made. Put your arms up ( Like your an airplane) and let someone else measure from elbow to elbow. That's all you need to know to make your own custom dazzling shrug! You'll be using these measurements in the 3rd part of the CAL. At the end of part 3, your "square" will be elbow to elbow.

The Yarn:

The yardage is based upon the number of skeins we needed for the sizes.

We recommend to use yarn suitable for hook size F/5 and G/6.

Colour 1 is the colour with which you will make the edging

Colour 2 is the 2nd color of the shrug

Colour 1: 985 yards        (900 meters)

(MC) Magic circle

(CH) Chain

(SL.ST) Slip stitch

(SC) Single crochet

The Pattern:

1. Color 1, MC, 8 SC in the MC, SL.ST in the 1st SC.
2. CH1, 2SC in every stitch, SL.ST in the first SC.
3. CH3, HDC, SC, HDC, *( DC, HDC, SC, HDC). * Repeat till end. SL.ST in the top of CH3, fasten off.
4. Color 2: CH1, SC, HDC, DC, TC, CH4. *( SC, HDC, DC, TC, CH4) *Repeat till end. Sl.ST in the 1st SC. Fasten off
5. Color 1: SL.ST in the CH4 space, ( 2SC, 2HDC in the CH4 space), 1DC in the next 2 stitches, 1TC in the next 2 stitches, CH4, *( 1SC in the next 2 stitches, 1HDC in the next 2 stitches, 1DC in the next 2 stitches, 1TC in the next 2 stitches, CH4) *Repeat till end. SL.ST in the 1st SC. Fasten off
6. 26. Color 2: *( In the ch4 space, make 3 sc. 1HDC in the next 27 stitches, 1DC in the next 27 stitches, 1TC in the next 27 stitches, ch4) *Repeat till the end. Sl.ST in the 1st sc. Fasten off
27. Color 1: *( In the ch4 space, make 3 sc. 1HDC in the next 28 stitches, 1DC in the next 28 stitches, 1TC in the next 28 stitches, ch4) *Repeat till the end. Sl.ST in the 1st sc. Fasten off
28. Color 2: *( In the ch4 space, make 3 sc. 1HDC in the next 29 stitches, 1DC in the next 29 stitches, 1TC in the next 29 stitches, ch4) *Repeat till the end. Sl.ST in the 1st sc. Fasten off
29. Color 1: SLST into the ch4 space, CH3, 3DC in the CH4 space. 1DC in every stitch till you reach the next ch4 space. *(In the CH4 space: 1DC, CH2, 4DC, In every stitch till CH4 space 1DC.) *Repeat till you reach the end. In the first CH4 space, 1DC, CH2, SLST in the top of CH3. Fasten off.
30. Color 2: SLST in the CH2 space, (CH3, 1DC) in the CH2 space. 1DC in every stitch till you reach the next ch2 space. *((2DC, CH2, 2DC) in the ch2 space. 1DC in every stitch.) * Repeat till you reach the first ch2 space. (2DC. CH2, SLST in the top of CH3) Fasten off
31. Switch color every row and repeat row 30 till you reach elbow to elbow length.
32. Folding and assembling:

Front post double crochet
Back post double crochet

Folding;

Crochet together;

Edging (short version)

For the edging, make 7 rows. Also 7 rows for the sleeves. Use the same technique as for the front edge. 

When hooking with thicker yarn, make 2 sc in the ch2 space in the first row. In the 2nd row increase in the corner by making 2 front post double crochet, or two back post double crochet in 1 DC. Crochet 5 rows.

When hooking with thinner yarn like i did, In the ch2 space, make 2dc. Count them as front post, back post or back post, front post and continue if you are making the edging all the way round. Crochet 5 rows.

If you only want to make edging at the front of the shrugigan, make 2 DC in the ch2 space. Ch3, turn and continue making front and back post double crochet. When turning your work, the next row, front post stitches from the previous row will be back post stitches in the next row. That way you'll get the ribbed look. Crochet 7 rows for the front, 5 rows for the sleeves.
