(US) Dazzling CAL variegated (whole) pattern

The CAL has ended! I have seen some lovely creations coming by. If you haven't made the Dazzling shrug yet, here's the whole pattern.

Sizes:

The pattern has been designed in a way that any size (S to XXXL) can be made. Put your arms up ( Like your an airplane) and let someone else measure from elbow to elbow. That's all you need to know to make your own custom dazzling shrug! You'll be using these measurements in the 3rd part of the CAL. At the end of part 3, your "square" will be elbow to elbow.

The Yarn:

The yardage is based upon the number of skeins we needed for the sizes.

We recommend to use yarn suitable for hook size F/5 and G/6.

Size S

Varigated yarn: You will need one skein in a solid colour for edging and 1181 yards (1080 meters) of varigated yarn              

Size M

Varigated yarn: you will need one skein of solid colour for edging and 1181 yards (1080 meters) of varigated yarn  

Size L

Varigated yarn: you will need two skeins of solid color for edging and 1575 yards (1440 meters) of varigated yarn      

Size XL

Varigated yarn: you will need two skeins of solid colour for edging and 1969 yards (1800 meters) of varigated yarn

Size XXL

Vargated yarn: you will need two skeins of solid color for edging and 2363 yards (2160 meters) of varigated yarn

Size XXXL

Varigated yarn: you'll need three skeins of solid color for edging and 2750 yards (2500 meters) of varigated yarn

The pattern:

28. Make 3 SC in the ch4 space. 1HDC in the next 29 stitches, 1DC in the next 29 stitches, 1TC in the next 29 stitches, *(ch4, 3SC in the ch4 space. 1HDC in the next 29 stitches, 1DC in the next 29 stitches, 1TC in the next 29 stitches) *Repeat till the end. TC in the 1st SC.
29. Repeat row 30 till you reach elbow to elbow length.
30. CH3, 1DC in the DC space, 1DC in every stitch till you reach the next ch2 space. *( In the ch2 space: (2DC, ch2, 2DC), 1DC in every stitch till you reach the DC space. 2DC in the ch2 space, 1DC in the top of ch3.
31. CH3, 3DC in the TC space. 1DC in every stitch till you reach the next ch4 space. *( In the ch4 space: (1DC, CH2, 4DC), 1DC in every stitch till you reach the next ch4 space. * Repeat till you reach the TC space. 1DC in the TC space, DC in the top of ch3.
32. Folding and assembling:

4 stitch markers

Edging:

For the edging, make 7 rows. Also 7 rows for the sleeves. Use the same technique as for the front edge. 

When hooking with thicker yarn, make 2 sc in the ch2 space in the first row. In the 2nd row increase in the corner by making 2 front post double crochet, or two back post double crochet in 1 DC. Crochet 5 rows.

When hooking with thinner yarn like i did, In the ch2 space, make 2dc. Count them as front post, back post or back post, front post and continue if you are making the edging all the way round. Crochet 5 rows.

If you only want to make edging at the front of the shrugigan, make 2 DC in the ch2 space. Ch3, turn and continue making front and back post double crochet. When turning your work, the next row, front post stitches from the previous row will be back post stitches in the next row. That way you'll get the ribbed look. Crochet 7 rows for the front, 5 rows for the sleeves.
