Materials:
Crochet hook (K)7mm
Caron Big Cakes or similar weight/ply yarn (4 medium)
Ruler (1-2 inch high) *use the same ruler for all squares
tapestry/yarn needle for weaving in ends scissors

Abbreviations: 
* Magic Circle (MC)
* Slip Stitch (SLST.) 
* Chain (CH)
* Single Crochet (SC)
* Half Double Crochet (HDC) 
* Double Crochet (DC)

* Off Set Stitch (OSS)
(Make a DC in the marked stitch, yarn over, *(move the hook in between the space of the DC and the previous DC. yarn over, pull up a loop) * repeat 2 times.Yarn over. Leaving 2 loops on the hook, pull through the loops. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops)

* Back Post Double Crochet (BPDC)
(Yarn over, working at the back of your work, place the hook under the marked stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull .through 2, yarn over, pull through 2.)

* Back Loop Only (BLO) Only crochet a stitch in the back loop.

Pattern: 

Row 1: MC, Ch3, 2DC ch1, 3DC, ch1, 3DC, ch1, 3DC, ch1, slst to top of ch3 (12 DC)

Row 2: ch3, DC behind the ch3 in the ch1 space(Video), * 1 DC in the next 3 stitches, (2DC, ch1, 2DC) in the ch1 space of the corner. Repeat from * around to last corner, 2DC, ch1, slst to top of ch3 (28 stitches in row - 7 DC per side)

Row 3: ch3, DC behind the ch3 in the ch1 space of the corner, * DC in the next 7 stitches, (2DC, ch1, 2DC) in the ch1 space of the corner. Repeat from * around to last corner, 2DC, ch1, slst to top of ch3 (44 stitches in row - 11 DC per side)

Row 4: ch3, DC behind the ch3 in the ch1 space of the corner, * (ch 1, skip 1stitch, DC next stitch) 5x, (2DC, ch1, 2DC) ) in the ch1 space of the corner. Repeat from * around to last corner, 2DC, ch1, slst to top of ch3 (36 stitches in row - 9 DC per side)

Row 5: ch3, DC behind the ch3 in the ch1 space of the corner, *DC next 2 stitches, DC each ch1 and each stitch across the row, (2DC, ch1, 2DC) in the ch1 space of the corner. Repeat from * around to last corner, 2DC, ch1, slst to top of ch3 (76 stitches in row - 19 DC per side)

Row 6: ch3, DC behind the ch3 in the ch1 space of the corner, (BLO) * 19 DC across row (2DC, ch1, 2DC) in the ch1 space of the corner. Repeat from * around to last corner, 2DC, ch1, slst to top of ch3 (52 stitches in row - 23 DC per side)

Row 7: ch3, DC behind the ch3 in the ch1 space of the corner, (BLO) * 23 DC across row, (2DC, ch1, 2DC) in the ch1 space of the corner. Repeat from * around to last corner, 2DC, ch1, slst to top of ch3 ( 108 stitches in row - 27 DC per side)

Row 8: ch3, DC behind the ch3 in the ch1 space of the corner, * (ch 1, skip 1stitch, DC next stitch) 13x, (2DC, ch1, 2DC) in the ch1 space of the corner. Repeat from * around to last corner, 2DC, ch1, slst to top of ch3 . (68 stitches in row - 17 DC per side)

Row 9: ch3, DC behind the ch3 in the ch1 space of the corner, * OSS between the 2 DC stitches and in each ch1 space across the row (16 OSS stitches), (2DC, ch1, 2DC) in the ch1 space of the corner. Repeat from * around to last corner, 2DC, ch1, slst to top of ch3 . ( 80 stitches in row - 16 OSS, 4 DC per row)

Row 10: ch2, 1 HDC behind the ch3 in the ch1 space of the corner, HDC in next 2 stitches* HDC in both stitches on top of each OSS across the row, HDC in next 2 stitches (2HDC, ch1, 2HDC) in the ch1 space of the corner, repeat from * to last corner, 2HDC, ch1, slst to top of ch3 (160 stitches in row - 40 HDC per side)

Row 11: ch3, DC behind the ch3 in the ch1 space of the corner, (BLO), * skip 1st stitch, DC next 39 stitches across row, (2DC, ch1, 2DC) in the ch1 space of the corner. Repeat from * around to last corner, 2DC, ch1, slst to top of ch3 (172 stitcher in row - 43 DC per side)

Row 12: ch3, DC behind the ch3 in the ch1 space of the corner, * BPDC next 43 stitches across row, (2DC, ch1, 2DC) in the ch1 space of the corner. Repeat from * around to last corner, 2DC, ch1, slst to top of ch3. Fasten off. (188 stitches in row - 47 stitches per side)
