Fingering weight yarn
Children up to 3 yearn; 900 meters
Children 4 to 7; 1400 meters
Crochethook 2.5mm

  1. MC, 8 SC in the MC, SL.ST in the 1st SC
  2. CH1, 2SC in every stitch, SL.ST in the first SC.
  3. CH3, HDC, SC, HDC, *( DC, HDC, SC, HDC). * Repeat till end. SL.ST in the top of CH3.
  4. CH1, SC, HDC, DC, TC, *( CH4, SC, HDC, DC, TC,) *Repeat till end. TC in the first SC
  5. In the TC space, ( 2SC, 2HDC), 1DC in the next 2 stitches, 1TC in the next 2 stitches,  *( CH4,in the ch4 space (2SC, 2HDC), 1DC in the next 2 stitches, 1TC in the next 2 stitches,) *Repeat till end. TC in the first SC

  21. Make 3 SC in the ch4 space. 1HDC in the next 22 stitches, 1DC in the next 22 stitches, 1TC in the next 22 stitches, *(ch4, 3SC in the ch4 space. 1HDC in the next 22 stitches, 1DC in the next 22 stitches, 1TC in the next 22 stitches) *Repeat till the end. TC in the 1st SC.
  22. Make 3 SC in the ch4 space. 1HDC in the next 23 stitches, 1DC in the next 23 stitches, 1TC in the next 23 stitches, *(ch4, 3SC in the ch4 space. 1HDC in the next 23 stitches, 1DC in the next 23 stitches, 1TC in the next 23 stitches) *Repeat till the end. TC in the 1st SC.
  23. Make 3 SC in the ch4 space. 1HDC in the next 24 stitches, 1DC in the next 24 stitches, 1TC in the next 24 stitches, *(ch4, 3SC in the ch4 space. 1HDC in the next 24 stitches, 1DC in the next 24 stitches, 1TC in the next 24 stitches) *Repeat till the end. TC in the 1st SC.
  24. CH3, 3DC in the TC space. 1DC in every stitch till you reach the next ch4 space. *( In the ch4 space: (1DC, CH2, 4DC), 1DC in every stitch till you reach the next ch4 space. * Repeat till you reach the TC space. 1DC in the TC space, DC in the top of ch3.
  25. CH3, 1DC in the DC space, 1DC in every stitch till you reach the next ch2 space. *( In the ch2 space: (2DC, ch2, 2DC), 1DC in every stitch till you reach the DC space. 2DC in the ch2 space, 1DC in the top of ch3. 
  26. Repeat row 25 till you reach elbow to elbow length.

Double crochet
Front post double crochet
Back post double crochet

    Crochet together;




    Edging (short version)



For the edging, make 7 rows. Also 7 rows for the sleeves. Use the same technique as for the front edge. 

When hooking with thicker yarn, make 2 sc in the ch2 space in the first row. In the 2nd row increase in the corner by making 2 front post double crochet, or two back post double crochet in 1 DC. Crochet 5 rows.

When hooking with thinner yarn like i did, In the ch2 space, make 2dc. Count them as front post, back post or back post, front post and continue if you are making the edging all the way round. Crochet 5 rows.


If you only want to make edging at the front of the shrugigan, make 2 DC in the ch2 space. Ch3, turn and continue making front and back post double crochet. When turning your work, the next row, front post stitches from the previous row will be back post stitches in the next row. That way you'll get the ribbed look. Crochet 7 rows for the front, 5 rows for the sleeves.

(US) Dazzling CAL 2 colors (whole) pattern

The CAL has ended! I have seen some lovely creations coming by. If you haven't made the Dazzling shrug yet, here's the whole pattern. Join the  Facebookgroup  for questions and support! Stitch markers can come in handy Sizes: The pattern has been designed in a way that any size (S to XXXL) can be made. Put your arms up ( Like your an airplane) and let someone else measure from elbow to elbow. That's all you need to know to make your own custom dazzling shrug! You'll be using these measurements in the 3rd part of the CAL. At the end of part 3, your "square" will be elbow to elbow. The Yarn: The yardage is based upon the number of skeins we needed for the sizes. We recommend to use yarn suitable for hook size F/5 and G/6. Colour 1 is the colour with which you will make the edging Colour 2 is the 2nd color of the shrug Size S Colour 1: 985 yards        (900 meters) Colour 2: 739 yards        (675 meters)              Size M
