Part 3 of the CAL must have a specific length to make the pattern look right when finished. When using a bigger hook and different yarn size then recommended, the pattern won't come out right. How do you fix this? Measure the length from elbow to elbow. Minus 30 cm (11,8 inch). That number is the maximum size of part 2 of the CAL. For example:  My elbow to elbow size is 90 cm (35,43 inch) - 30 cm (11,8 inch) = 60 cm (23,62 inch) My part 2 of the CAL can be no more then 60cm (23,62inch) Measure the piece horizontally over the middle circle.
