Planned pooling hook case

Planned pooling crochet hook case

Yay! A planned pooling hook case. How cool is that?
Now how to do it.

What do you need?

knowledge of planned pooling,
about 350 yards of pooling yarn, crochet hooks,
stitch markers, tapestry needle,sewing thread,
measuring tape,scissors,button

Start:

We are going to chain multiple color sequences to get 23,5 inches. Make sure you chain a multiple of 3 color sequences. That way we can fold the hookcase in 3.
Continue pooling till your work is 9 or 10 inches high

Now to make the flap to close the case.
Divide the number of color sequences you made by 3.
We need to fold the hook case 2 times to close it. So 3 ‘parts’ are needed.

When you did 3 color sequences to make the first part, you’ll need to make 1 color sequence for
the flap.
Make it 5 inches high. Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Fold the bottom up 4 inches. Place stitch markers to hold it in place.

Grab your hook and pooling yarn. Attach it in one of the bottom corners. Do moss stitch to crochet
the folded part together. Keep making moss stitches all around. Make 2 moss stitches in the upper
corners. In the centre of the flap, make your moss stitch (chain, SC), chain 6, skip 1 stitch, make a
SC in the next stitch. (Now you created a loop for your button!) Continue making moss stitch till you
reach the last bottom corner. Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Now to create the pockets for the hooks. Use a needle and sewing thread. I pulled my sewing
stitches really tight so the thread doesn't show on the yarn. I put one of my hooks in the corner that
we stitched together. Then sewed right next to it to make a nice and tight pocket. And repeated this
till I created enough pockets for my hooks. I made 2 bigger pockets for my measuring tape and
scissors. ( I divided the last ‘folding part’ of the hook case into 2 pockets.
When all pockets are made..Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Attach a button in the right place. Fill up your hook case and enjoy!
