Yay it’s that time again! Time to grab your hooks, get your yarn out and sit back and relax. Starting this friday (2nd march) the first square will be released. Every week on friday a new square will appear. Things you’ll need to know before getting started:

Versatile Chique Blanket
**PLEASE NOTE** Pattern consists of 9 patterned squares. Each square will utilize approximately
200 yards of yarn. The versatility of this pattern is you can make more of each square in order to
make different sizes of blankets - from a throw of the 9 squares to whatever size you would like!

Joining the squares will utilize approximately 200 yards of yarn, as well and the edging/border
will utilize roughly 400 yards of yarn. This yarn usage is based on using a 7MM hook (K) and a
medium weight yarn such as Caron Big Cakes or Red Heart Comfort yarns. Using a different size
hook and yarn will give a different result. Please take that into consideration when purchasing yarn!

So that being said - 9 squares x 200 yards = 1800 yards for squares + 200 yards for join
+ 400 yards edging = 2400 yards of yarn. IF you are planning to make additional squares
to make a larger sized blanket, PLEASE adjust the yarn requirements appropriately.
(always a good idea to buy 1 or 2 extra balls/cakes/skeins for any project.)

Materials:
*Crochet hook (K) 7mm
*Caron Big Cakes or similar weight/ply yarn (4 medium)
*Ruler (2 cm high) *use the same ruler for all squares
* bigger ruler will change the size of the loops/broomsticks and the amount of yarn used overall
* tapestry/yarn needle for weaving in ends
* scissors
* stitch markers or pins - to clip the squares together when placing squares for joining.
* Measuring tape

* Slip Stitch (SLST)
* Chain (CH)
* Double Crochet (DC)
* Off Set Stitch (OSS) (Make a DC in the marked stitch, yarn over, *(move the hook in
between the space of the DC and the previous DC, yarn over, pull up a loop) * repeat 2 times.
